With the Y12 series motors Hyperion provides a more powerful, more reliable brushless replacement for the original GWS IPS and XC brushed motor applications, such as EDF40 and EDF50 Fans, and Micro gearboxes. The Y12 are also suitable for direct-drive with small props, such as 3x2 GWS on 2S lithium. In comparison to their brushless competitors in the class, the Y12 provide superior efficiency at higher currents, and they also are the only motor in their class which use 180-degree-celcius rated magnets and coil wire. That means they stay alive when the going gets tough, and keep running for years of faithful service. And you will find - in addition to the quality and performance - that the Y12 motors are also a great value. APPLICATIONS - Y12LSeries Y12 motors can handle quite high power levels and current for their size. But reliable performance depends on providing adequate cooling airflow at all times. In some cases where cooling airflow is very good, such as EDF, max continuous ratings might be safely exceeded. But it is YOUR responsibility to check motor temperature during initial flights. The motors should never exceed 85 Celsius, on the outside case. If so, use a smaller propeller, or fan unit with fewer blades, or less pitch. Speed controllers in the range of 8A to 12A are appropriate for the Y12. | Y12L Series (16g, 12mm OD 30mm long) | | Version | Max Sustainable Amperage | R (ohm) | KV | I0(A) | | Y12L-4100 | 5.5 | 0.568 | 4180 | 0.23 | | Y12L-5300 | 7.5 | 0.332 | 5380 | 0.27 | | Y12L-5800 | 8.5 | 0.285 | 5980 | 0.35 | - 1.5mm Motor Shaft Diameter
